Doctrinal Statement
Many Christians will want to make sure that I am not going to preach heresy, so I'm going to post this. However, I can't put everything I believe here. Is it possible to put the God who created the Universe in a box? In the scheme of things, we know very little about the Universe. I've loved the Lord since I was a  small child. Shortly after I started my first business 50+ years ago, I came to understand and receive more about the God who loves me, His creation, so much that He covered my sins with His Son's blood. I'll put my testimony on a post sometime. Regardless, I am still learning and will continue to learn about God's love.
Every book in the bible and thousands of ancient manuscripts, prophesy about Jesus. He is known by many names, but I grew up to appreciate and love the name Jesus. My eyes water when I hear the Name. I shutter when I hear it used in vain. It speaks God's love! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. If you know Him, you know that you know.Â
If you've been around me much, you've heard me say that the less that I know about something, the more that I think that I know and the more that I know, the more that I know that I don't know. It is my catchphrase. Ask a scientist or historian about the subject that they did their thesis on. I'll bet that most of them would admit that they know that they don't know very much about the subject. They could spend their entire life studying a piece of dirt or a leaf and never understand it completely. Â
One thing that I do know is this: God is not going to give His child a stone if he or she asks for bread. I hope that I can encourage you to know God personally and fall deeper and deeper in love with Him. I hope that my writings will encourage you to read the bible for yourself. I believe that God speaks to us individually through the words in the bible. You don't need a rabbi, priest, or pastor to interpret what God is saying when He speaks to you. You will know that you know.Â
With that preface, here is a list of fundamentals. I stole this from my favorite Hebrew teacher, Chaim Bentorah. If you have a problem with it, talk to Chaim. I did create the links to make it easier to check the verses. I'm just the messenger, but do agree with the list. My currently favorite version of the bible is the ESV, so that is what I am using. However, this website isn't about theology or dogma. It is simply intended to encourage you in your walk with God.
1. God is a Person who has revealed Himself as a Trinity in unity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three Persons and yet but one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6)
2. The Bible, including both the Old and the New Testaments, is a divine revelation, the original autographs of which were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
3. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, which to say, He is Himself very God; He took upon Him our nature, being conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary; He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into heaven in that body glorified, where He is now, our interceding High Priest; He will come again personally and visibly to set up His kingdom and to judge the quick and the dead. (Colossians 1:15; Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Peter 2:24-25; Luke 24; Hebrews 4:14-16; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 11:15-17; 20:4-6, 11-15)
4. Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin, and, in that sense, is lost; this is true of all men, and except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God; salvation is by grace through faith in Christ who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree; the retribution of the wicked and unbelieving and the reward of the righteous are everlasting, and as the reward is conscious, so is the retribution. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 23; John 3:3; Acts 13:38, 39; 4:12; John 3:16; Matthew 25:46; 2 Corinthians 5:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10)
5. The Church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body; its mission is to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel among all nations. (Acts 2:41; 15:13-17; Ephesians 1:3-6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Matthew 28:19-20)
